Blue Fins Memorial Day Parade Info
Hello there Blue Fins!
We are so excited to once again show our team spirit and strut our stuff in the Blue Ash Memorial Day Parade this year. Here is all the information you need to know.
*We will all meet in the UC Blue Ash parking lot at 9:15 AM on Monday, May 26. Plan to come down Plainfield from the north to get to UC Blue Ash due to road closures. The parade begins at 10:15.
*Dress up to show your team spirit! Wear Blue Fins gears, swimsuits, a swim cap, goggles, snorkel or anything that makes you look like a swimmer! Ocean animal costumes are welcome! :) Perhaps even a bubble machine! Let's make it fun!
*Please bring your own bag of wrapped candy to toss out to the crowd. Avoid chocolate so nothing melts. We are only allowed to throw candy—no water guns, water balloons, or silly string.
*We do need some parents to stick around and walk the parade with us, especially if you have a younger swimmer. We had lots of parents in past years, and it was a BLAST! With such a large team, we are expecting a lot of swimmers to join us at the parade, and we will need help keeping everyone safe.
*Plan on walking the 1.6 mile parade route. Due to the size of our group, no bikes or scooters.
*Pick up your child around 11:15 in the parking lot of the Blue Ash Library. Plan to enter the library the back way from Hunt Road (near Altitude Apartments) due to road closures. We do not provide transportation back to UC Blue Ash. There is a Memorial Day Ceremony at 11:30 at the new Towne Square.
*We are looking for 1 or 2 Blue Fin parents with a pickup truck they'd be willing to drive in the parade and let us decorate to show off that Blue Fin spirit! Get in touch with Joy Becker if you're interested. (Contact info below.)
* We are also looking for 1 or 2 families with coolers and wagons. We have lots of water bottles, but will need a couple more people to pull wagons with the coolers so the marchers have plenty of water. Get in touch with Joy Becker if you can help. (Contact info below.)
